Currently Reading!

Hi Readers! Lately, all I feel like doing is reading books. That’s all. I’m being very lazy with the reviews. The last 2 books which I read, I wanted to write a book review, but I just didn’t. They were both mystery/thrillers. I loved reading Lisa Jewell’s The Family Upstairs, but I just couldn’t review it. And more recently, I finished the most anticipated novel The Maidens by Alex Michaelides, which I did not like. And now I haven’t written anything since 10 days! So, here I am letting you all know which books I am currently reading! I am reading FOUR BOOKS at the moment, all of which are very different from each other. Check them out!

~~SIX OF CROWS by LEIGH BARDUGO~~

Six of Crows & Crooked Kingdom are some of the books I have been wanting to read for a long time. I started Six of Crows and within only one chapter, I understood why everyone loved this duology. I am enjoying it so far, and I can’t wait to get acquainted with all these amazing characters. I already love Kaz, Inej & Nina. Hopefully, I will warm up to the others as soon as they are introduced. Till now, I have loved watching heists in B99 & Oceans’ movies. So, a heist in a fantasy world definitely sounds beyond amazing. I wish I had a week-long holiday to read these books with the dedication & love that they deserve!

~~THE PEARL by JOHN STEINBECK~~

I am supposed to read 3 classics this year as part of my 2021 Reading Challenge. I am sort of cheating by reading short novels, because I just cannot put any energy into reading classics. I either lose interest or fall asleep or my patience runs out. Anyway, I loved John Steinbeck’s ‘Of Mice and Men’ & his writing really warmed up to me. This is why I decided on reading ‘The Pearl’. I am halfway through, and even this novel has a lot of layers. I am planning on finishing it today, but once again I doubt I will review this.

~~THE COMFORT BOOK by MATT HAIG~~

I started reading this one just yesterday. This book is exactly what it states in the title. I only read a few chapters, but even in those, I found comfort, warmth & hope. It is sort of like a medication in book form which will bring your anxiety down & your blood pressure to normal & actually make you feel better. It’s like a long hug. I am completely prepared to love it! And, even though I have just started it, it’s already my favourite & I will always recommend reading it.

~~10 MINUTES 38 SECONDS IN THIS STRANGE WORLD by ELIF SHAFAK~~

I started this book a few weeks ago. I liked the premise of the book & I had a feeling it will unfold a lot, giving readers a very real picture. I have only read a few pages, despite starting it first from this lot. I think I will go back to it after finishing the Crows Duology, or probably randomly as per my mood.

That’s all, folks! I still have a lot of books to read for this year. My TBR is higher than ever! Happy Reading!!

Until next time,
