December 2025 Recap!

Hi Readers! Happy last month of the year!!
Let’s be honest, December isn’t Decembering. Work is just non-stop, which is usually never the case this close to the Christmas period. And worse is that there are no signs of it slowing down either. It’s quite hard to get into that festive wintery holiday mood when all you do is go to office every day! Nevertheless, I’m hoping the last two weeks of the month are more peaceful and will give me time to unwind and slack off somewhat. With the holiday season upon us, though the month isn’t over yet, I wanted to share a monthly recap post now, because during the coming weeks, I will be sharing the traditional annual year in review posts. Since it has only been 20 or so days, there isn’t as much to share as I usually do, but here we go!
~~BOOKS~~
I read TWO BOOKS across 296 PAGES in December. This brings the 2025 total to 30 books! Not bad, given the kind of year I had. For this month, both the books I read were somewhat about words and books.
~~SHABDA KASE HE PURE PADAVE by RAVINDRA SHENOLIKAR (MARATHI LANGUAGE)~~
I read a book of poems written in Marathi language written by Ravindra Shenolikar, who’s my dad! The title loosely translates to ‘How can words be enough?’ I have been reading his poems over the years, but to read them in a book just feels too real and wholesome. There are 100 poems covering various themes; some will teleport you to a forest, some will make you nostalgic, some will make you remind of all your regrets, some will make you laugh. I loved them all and I’m a #1 fan, and that’s not even a biased opinion. If you can read Marathi, you should read this book! I have rated Shabda Kase He Pure Padave by Ravindra Shenolikar at 5/5 stars!
~~EVERY DAY I READ by HWANG BOREUM, TRANSLATED by SHANNA TAN~~
I had read Hwang Boreum’s ‘Welcome to the Hyunam Dong Bookshop’, and had loved it. It was one of my favorites in the books about books genre. So, when I knew there’s a new book by the author, I had to read it. This one is non-fiction, a book about essays on 53 Ways to Get Closer to Books. The title itself calls out to readers, doesn’t it? While I enjoyed this book, I also thought the right audience for it would be non-readers or people who want to start reading. It’s a good guide for them as it gives practical tips combined with the charm of being a reader. I have rated Every Day I Read By Hwang Boreum, Translated by Shanna Tan at 3/5 stars!
~~STATS~~
~~LIFE LATELY~~
Slide 1 & 2: Konkan diaries. A trip to Guhagar and Dapoli. It was a trip with a lot of peace, family and relatives and exhaustion from the road trip. We travelled 600 kms in the span of 3 days!
Slide 3 At this point I think it will be weird if there ISN’T a cat photo in my monthly recaps!
Slide 4 & 5: During this month’s art gallery hopping solo date, I liked my own outfit more than I liked any of the art in the 6 galleries I visited. Art is subjective, but it’s a bummer I didn’t enjoy anything this time around.
Slide 6: It was my atya’s (dad’s sister’s) 60th birthday celebrations! It was an intimate event with close fam, so we really enjoyed a lot.
Slide 7: Pre-event clicks!
Slide 8: We created a slideshow for my atya. So, when we were hunting for old photos, we naturally found some of ours too. This is me with my cousin brother.
Slide 9: A painting session. Sholay, the Final Cut in the theatre & confetti love.
Slide 10 A very care-free, core-me, childish-happiness portraying photo.
Stay tuned. Will be back next week for the 2025 Year in Review series!!
Until next time,
