Top 14 Movies & Top 14 TV Shows of 2025 – Year in Review (Part 2)

Hi Watchers and Readers!
Welcome to the Part 2 of the 2025 Year in Review series!! Immersing myself into movies and TV shows was a consistent pattern this year too. No emotional bandwidth to read? No problem! I’ll just watch something instead! This has been my motto throughout the year. I watched more than last year, but less than what I planned to watch this year. Nevertheless, most of it was really amazing stuff.
~~TOP 14 TV SHOWS OF 2025~~

I watched 70 TV SHOWS this year! Definitely watched more series than movies for major part of the year. Series have just become my go-to watching medium. I’m always rewatching FRIENDS or TBBT or B99 or Gilmore Girls or Modern Family or Grey’s Anatomy. I also look forward to watching new ones and finish them in a matter of a few hours. I went a bit crazy this year with thrillers, mystery & psychological fiction genres. But, some of my hands-down obvious favorites included Adolescence, The Pitt, Stranger Things Season 5 & Taylor Swift’s The End of an Era Docu Series.
There were many average or underwhelming 2nd and 3rd seasons of shows whose 1st season I loved. These were mainly Bad Sisters S02, Squid Game S02, The White Lotus S03, Black Mirror S07, You S05 and Platonic S02. I also watched several cringe shows, which I hated to watch but also obsessed over them while watching. So, those are obviously The Summer I Turned Pretty & Emily in Paris. But, all in all, even if the TV shows are disappointing, there’s always something fun or relatable or certain characters or actors who make it worth it.

~~TOP 14 MOVIES OF 2025~~

I watched 70 movies this year! Of these 70, I have only watched about 30-odd movies alone. Others were either rewatches or watched with the family. I feel like I enjoy watching movies with someone, as opposed to how I enjoy watching TV Shows alone. From the movies that I did watch alone, I usually take the longest time to decide which to watch, and then if they don’t hold my attention from the first minute, I lose interest! This is possibly why I have watched some old classics for the first time this year and also some movies released this year which have won awards.
I loved watching classics such as Inglorious Basterds, The Truman Show & Misery, which I have no idea how I hadn’t watched before! From the award-winning movies, I enjoyed Sinners, Frankenstein & Bugonia. An unexpected movie which popped in my top 14 was The Life List. It was a very simple movie, average story, average actors, but there were too many little things in it which struck a chord, so I ended up loving it! Some special mentions would be Chhava, Anandi Gopal, Mrs. & A Real Pain. Two movies which were insanely hilarious were The Roses & Wicked Little Letters, both starring Olivia Colman, probably why they became so hilarious in the first place!

In an era where we are all sustained by our hobbies, I believe that no one should be judging down on you for having ‘watching stuff’ as a hobby. I love watching movies, tv shows, documentaries, YouTube content, Instagram content. It’s only when it starts becoming an addiction rather than a hobby, it can be problematic. As for now, the watching and binge watching continues!!

I will be back tomorrow to share the TOP 8 POSTS of 2025 – Year in Review (Part 3)
Until next time,
