Daughters’ Day Special Book Haul!

Hi Readers! How are you all? As promised, I am back with a Book Haul post! I got all these books from my parents on the occasion of Daughters’ Day! As usual, these have been on my TBR since a long time. I already read 3 of these books, and the rest of the I will hopefully read soon enough!

~~BRIDGE OF CLAY by MARKUS ZUSAK~~

I think all of the readers worldwide have read & loved Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief. My love for wartime historical fiction started with this novel. I must have read The Book Thief 7 or 8 years ago, and ever since then Bridge of Clay has been on my TBR. Now that I finally have it, I will read it soon!

~~CLOUD CUCKOO LAND by ANTHONY DOERR~~

Similar to the above case, I have read Anthony Doerr’s ‘All the Light We Cannot See’ & ever since I knew everything that he would write. His latest book Cloud Cuckoo Land released recently, and so I am really looking forward to be completely overwhelmed by all the sea of emotions I will have while reading it.

~~ARIADNE by JENNIFER SAINT~~

Ariadne is a mythological historical fiction. When I read its blurb, I was immediately reminded of Madeline Miller’s 2 most amazing novels; Circe & The Song of Achilles! I am not sure when I will read this one, but it will be soon enough.

~~THE TRAVELLING CAT CHRONICLES by HIRO ARIKAWA~~

I had always stuck with Haruki Murakami when it came to Japanese authors & magical realism genre. But then I read Toshikazu Kawaguchi’s Before the Coffee Gets Cold duology & was in love with it. This is why I decided to venture out to read more Japanese authors. This looks like a cute short book which I will likely devour over a weekend.

I read these books in September & luckily enjoyed reading all three! I will hopefully get the time to write the book reviews for them soon enough! You can read the mini reviews for them in my September Reads post!

So, all in all, I have a lot of books on my TBR. My book-hungry phase has again quieted down, so I am reading only when I have a bit of time. I am not going out of my way to read. But, soon I will be back at it reading 3 books in 3 days like last time! Enjoy the mellow book blogger till then!
